What is the difference between Air Dry Clay and Play Dough?

While both air dry clay and play dough can be molded into shapes, the key difference is that air dry clay is a crafting material that hardens permanently when left to air dry, while play dough is a soft, pliable toy designed for play and will not harden completely, often crumbling when dry; essentially, air dry clay is meant for creating lasting objects, while play dough is for temporary play and manipulation.

Air dry clay is used for crafting projects like figurines, decorations, and jewelry, while play dough is primarily used for open-ended play and sensory activities.

Ingredients: While both can have similar ingredients like flour and water, play dough often contains additional components like oil and food coloring to maintain its soft texture and vibrant colors, while air dry clay may have different binders to ensure proper hardening.
